How this calculator works
This China enterprise employee basic pension calculator separates the base-pension and personal-account components. Enter the local monthly calculation base at retirement, average contribution-wage index, contribution years, personal-account balance, retirement age and any locally determined transitional or additional pension.
Calculation method
Base pension = (local calculation base + base × average contribution index) ÷ 2 × contribution years × 1%. Personal-account pension = account balance ÷ the official divisor for retirement age.
Check before using the estimate
The page calculates the base and personal-account components for whole retirement ages from 40 to 70 in the official divisor table. Enter or check local transitional pension, deemed years, eligibility, delayed-retirement treatment, occupational annuity and later adjustments against personal records and the authority determination.
Worked example
Defaults: local monthly calculation base ¥8,000, average contribution index 1.000, contribution years 30, personal-account balance ¥180,000, retirement age 60, transitional pension ¥0.
| Item | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Base pension | (¥8,000 + ¥8,000 × 1.0) ÷ 2 × 30 × 1% | ¥2,400/month |
| Personal-account pension | ¥180,000 ÷ 139 (age-60 divisor) | ¥1,294.96/month |
| Total monthly pension | ¥2,400 + ¥1,294.96 | ¥3,694.96/month |
Input variations
| Change | Base pension | Personal account | Total | Comparison |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Contribution index 1.0 → 1.5 | ¥3,000 | ¥1,294.96 | ¥4,294.96 | +¥600 |
| Contribution years 30 → 40 | ¥3,200 | ¥1,727* | ¥4,927 | +¥1,232 |
| Retirement age 60 → 65 | ¥2,800 | ¥1,782 | ¥4,582 | Divisor 139→101 |
| Calculation base ¥8,000 → ¥12,000 | ¥3,600 | ¥1,294.96 | ¥4,894.96 | Scales proportionally |
* Assumes the account balance scales by ¥60,000 to ¥240,000 with the extra years. Long-term contribution has the largest effect on pension.
Differences from official documents
Differences from the social-security agency’s final determination arise because: local transitional pension formulas differ by locality (based on deemed years, local coefficients, transitional coefficients) and this tool requires the user to enter the already-determined amount; deemed contribution years come from personnel files and this tool does not compute them; "middle person" (started work before 1997) and "new person" transition rules differ; delayed-retirement policy affects the actual retirement age and divisor; post-retirement annual adjustments are published by the MOHRSS and this tool does not forecast them; personal-account divisors come from the national table, but localities may adjust the actual payment basis; occupational and enterprise annuities are supplementary and not included here.
Thresholds and limits
The local monthly calculation base must be above ¥0 and no more than ¥1,000,000; the average contribution index must be above 0 and no more than 5. The calculator refuses an estimate when either authority or personal-record input is missing. Contribution years 0–60 (including deemed years, month-equivalent step in UI); personal-account balance ¥0–¥10,000,000; retirement age 40–70 whole years (national divisor table: age 60 = 139 months, 55 = 170, 50 = 195, 65 = 101, 70 = 56); transitional pension ¥0–¥100,000/month. Middle persons (started work before 1997) must enter a transitional pension.
Documents to check
Personal social-insurance contribution records (social-security app or local agency printout); personnel files (including work-start date, deemed years determination, wage records); local HRSS monthly calculation base notice; personal-account statements (issued annually by the social-security agency); retirement approval form and retirement certificate (verify actual retirement age and pension determination); delayed-retirement application form (if applicable); occupational or enterprise annuity account statements (if any).
Base pension and personal-account pension need different records
Local base, contribution index and account balance cannot be inferred safely from salary.
Base pension uses local base, index and service years
Month-level service should be entered as a fractional year rather than rounded.
Personal account uses the retirement-age divisor
Transitional pension, deemed service and local additions must come from the authority.
